Married, at the Cherokee picnic grounds on the banks of the Eau Pleine River, at high noon, on Wednesday, June 22nd, 1898, by Rev. S. A Hoffman, Mr. Frank W. Clark of Tomahawk, and Miss Claudia A. Booth of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.).

A prettier or more romantic place for a wedding, than that chosen by the bride, would be hard to find.

A picnic had been arranged by Mrs. Booth, to which only relatives and a very few of the more intimate friends of the family were invited, for this occasion.

Upon the stroke of the clock, at noon, the young couple took their places, unattended, beneath a wife spreading tree upon the bank of the river, and Rev. S.A. Hoffman pronounced the solemn words that united them in the holy bonds of matrimony. After the ceremony and congratulations extended the happy couple, dinner was served and partaken of with a relish by all. The afternoon was spent in general conversation and enjoyment.

The bride is the second daughter of Mrs. L.R. Booth, was born in this place and has spent her life here, passing through the several gradations of childhood, maidenhood and young womanhood in our midst, and through her quiet, modest, genial and pleasing manners has become a favorite with all. There is not one among her whole circle of acquaintances, but wishes her a pleasant and prosperous voyage over life’s troublous sea.

The groom is, to the most of us, a comparative stranger, his home is at Tomahawk; he came here several months ago to attend Prof Sommer’s School of Pharmacy; during the time that he has been here he has conducted himself as a perfect gentleman, and made many friends, all of whom extend him the same hearty congratulations as are extended the bride. That the path of this happy young couple be continually strewn with roses and may all that is good, in the power of dame fortune to bestow, fall to their lot, is the wish of the Phonograph.
